Abstract

During the early times of the 1660s, crime in the form of murder has been initializing to spread its roots in society. Jack the Ripper, who was often recognized as a serial killer brutally killed and exploited prostitutes in London in 1888. American society found the emergence of the term serial killer the means of various law officials in their course of classifying the different sorts of murders in the 1980s. Serial killing can’t be identical to the concept of mass murder. Serial killing got committed when two or more persons got killed in distinct periods whereas the killing of a large group of people at one go, provided that the place and time are similar, satisfies the terminology of mass murder. Serial killing comprises a specific pattern of killing. Anyone could be a serial killer including our parents, husband, companions, and so on. We cannot strive to estimate serial killers based on their behavioral codes. The ideology of people reflects that they assume that such killers are having extremely abnormal behavior like a devil, but the reality states that they usually have a common normal behavior as an ordinary being inherits. The flaw arises when people got failed in experiencing their key cause of factors which ultimately is pushing them to commit such acts. The space between the first murder and the another may be varied from a day to a month or even a year. To decode the mentality of these serial killers, we must prioritize psychology over the branch of criminology. It is revealed that a large number of serial killers initiate to commit such dangerous murders out of their psychological cause.
